TOPIC: Shallow Frying Method of Frying Eggs 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

  1. Discuss the process of shallow frying method of eggs.
  2.  fry eggs using shallow frying method.

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils are required to already learned shallow frying method of cooking eggs.

  1. Charts showing the different cooking methods.
  2. Food ingredients for meal preparation. 
  3.  Cooking pot, stove, oven, frying pan, etc.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

PREPARING EGGS USING SHALLOW FRYING METHOD 

Ingredients – eggs, pepper, tomatoes, onion, salt, sausage of meat.

METHOD 

  1. Wash and chopped the pepper, tomatoes and onion.
  2. Place the sauce pan on fire and add little vegetable oil.
  3. Add chopped pepper, tomatoes and onion.
  4. Allow to fry a little.
  5. Break the eggs and mix with salt
  6. Put the mixture on fire until it sets.
  7. Serve with yam, bread, plantain, jollof rice, etc.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Guides discussion on shallow frying methods of cooking. 
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the discussions.
  4.  Demonstrates shallow frying method of frying eggs.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Practice shallow frying method of frying egg.
  6.  Supervises pupils practicals.
  7. Gives a board summary.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – baking of sausage rolls.

LESSON EVALUATION

Pupils to cook using shallow frying method of frying plantain.
