TOPIC: CHARACTERISATION IN PLAY ACTING 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to define characterisation in play acting.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. TV, video, VCD.
  2. Poster pertaining actors/actresses.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

CHARACTERISATION IN PLAY ACTING 

Characterisation in play acting means imitating the way another person talks and behave.

 

TEACHER’S/PUPIL’S ACTIVITIES – IMITATING ANOTHER PEOPLE 

People to imitate –

1. Parents

2. Headteacher/Teacher

3. Colleagues

4. Security

5. Partors/Imans, etc.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2.Explains characterisation in play Acting.

3. Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

4. Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Imitating another people.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – ORGANIZE A DRAMA GROUP OF CLASS MEMBERS.
