TOPIC: SOME COMMON SNACKS IN THE LOCALITY 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. Explain the meaning of snacks and fruit drinks.

2. Mention some common snacks in their locally.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Pictures of different types of snacks.

2.bA picture of main meals and snacks.

3. Real objects such as the oranges, pineapple, grapefruit, cashew, sour sop, apple and grava.

4. Materials and tools for preparing and serving snacks and fruit drinks.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

INTRODUCTION

SNACKS 

Snacks are light food taken in between meal.

 

SOME COMMONLY SNACKS IN THE LOCALITIES 

  1. Chi chi
  2. Puff puff
  3. Pan cake
  4. Cake
  5. Plantain/potatoe chips
  6. Ojojo
  7. Bean cake
  8. Pon corn
  9. Groundnut
  10. Biscuit
  11. Cheese ball, etc.

 

IMPORTANCE OF SNACKS AND FRUIT DRINKS

1. To sustain hunger and thirsty.

2. To entertain guests at home, school, party, sports, etc.

3. It is served as a gift.

4. It refreshes the body.

5. It is used for picnic.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Gives examples of snacks and display various types of snacks.

Pupil’s Activities – Mention some snacks common in their locally.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – preparation of simple snacks and fruit drinks.

Pupils to:

1. Explain the meaning of snacks and fruit drinks.

2. Mention four foods eaten as snacks.

3. Mention two advantages and disadvantages of eating snacks.
