PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. Define computer games.

2. Give 4 types of computer game with examples.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

computer with adventure games (e.g. Prince, Dave, Test drive) installed.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

MEANING OF COMPUTER GAME

Computer Game is a video game played on a personal computer instead of normal video game machine.

 

 

Examples of Computer Games 

1. Solitaire

2. Prince of Persia

3. Test drive

4. Mario

5. Scorers

 

 

LESSON TWO – TYPES OF COMPUTER GAME

1. Education games

Examples of Education games – Words search, Scrabble, Maths quiz, etc.

 

2. Adventure games

Examples of Adventure games – Prince of Persia, Aladin, Robin Hood, etc.

 

3. Sport Games

Examples of Sport Games – PES 2020, Snooker, Ludo, etc.

 

4. Action Games

Examples of Action Games – Contra, Spiderman, Avenger, etc.

 

5. Combat Games

Examples of Combat Games – Contra, Spiderman, Avenger, etc.

 

6. Puzzle Games

Examples of Puzzle Games – Bridge, Jigsaw, etc.

 

LESSON THREE – WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or demonstrated by the pupils. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides pupils to define computer games;

Pupil’s Activities – Define computer games.

3. Lists types of computer with examples;

Pupil’s Activities – State different of computer games with examples.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
