2. Short Drama by the Pupils

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. name the two types of drama.

2. perform a short drama.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Brief storyline

2. Costumes

3. Camera (improvise – camera phone)

4. Audio-visual gadgets – 10′ tablet phone connected to bluetooth radio for audio.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION (DRAMA) 

Play a short children’s drama and asks the pupils the moral lesson of the drama.

 

MEANING OF DRAMA 

Drama means to act, to do or to perform.

Drama is also a play written for theater, television, radio, and film.

Based on the drama watch, asks question about, ‘who act as….’.

TYPES OF DRAMA

There are many types of drama such as:

1. Comedy 

Comedy drama is a drama that makes you smile, laugh and happy. For example, Jennifer Diary, Wedding Party, etc. 

 

2. Tragedy 

Tragedy drama is a sad drama. This drama makes people to cry sometimes. For example, Ghost and Tout, etc.

 

3. Melodrama

Melodrama is an emotional drama. This drama is sometimes fun or sad. For example, Ghost and Tout, etc. 

4. Musical drama 

Musical drama is a drama that combines song, dance and act. For example, India films, etc. 

 

5. Domestic drama

Domestic drama is a drama based on the normal daily life of family and friends. For example, Mr. John bull, Ile Aladun, etc.

LESSON TWO – REVISION AND WEEK 3 ASSESSMENT (TEST)

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains the two basic types of drama.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy the two types of drama.

3. Guides and allows pupils to act a drama based on honesty and truthfulness.

Pupil’s Activities – Act a drama as directed as the teacher.

 

CONCLUSION

• To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
