LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. explain forces as a push or pull.

2. give examples of forces.

3. demonstrate the effect of force on objects.

 

 

RATIONALE

Force is a push or pull on an object. A force can cause an object to start moving, slow down, stop moving, change shape or direction. The concept of force will enable pupils to identify the different types of forces, demonstrating their new knowledge with a sorting activity.

They will understand, appreciate and explore the characteristics of work and make simple machines.

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of nails, stones and pebble, rough surfaces – wood. Smooth surfaces – glass. Magnets, batteries, pieces of foam, springs, rubber bands, etc. Palms, balls bearings, machete, knife, water, vaseline, sand paper, oil, soapy Water.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

Pupils applied force in many things at home or in the school. They applied when To splitting wood, lifting bucket of water, removing nails from wood or pushing a wheel barrow, force is applied.
