PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. explain the meaning of team work.

2. state the importance of team work.

3. discuss how to achieve team work.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart and pictures of community working as a group.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Organizes and Monitor and activity (such as sweeping or arranging, etc.) that enables each pupil to work together as a team.

Asks each of them to describe his role as a member of the team and how easy the job will be if he/she is the only one.

 

MEANING (IMPORTANCE) OF TEAMWORK 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Discussion on what is teamwork.

Teamwork means working together with one another.

 

 

IMPORTANCE OF TEAMWORK 

1. Teamwork builds self confidence

2. Teamwork builds trust

3. Teamwork saves time

4. Teamwork enables us to learn new things

5. Teamwork promotes and improves communication

6. Teamwork enables us to achieve more.

 

HOW TO ACHIEVE TEAMWORK

1. Make teamwork a priority.

2. Set clear goals.

3. Communicate with each other.

4. Celebrate differences/diversity.

5. Reward teamwork.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Organises an activity that enables the pupils to work together or present a chart showing teamwork.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and describe the purpose of teamwork on the chart.

3. Explains the meaning of teamwork.

Pupil’s Activities – Explain the meaning of teamwork.

4. Discusses with the pupils, the importance and of teamwork.

Pupil’s Activities – State the importance of teamwork.

5. Discusses with the pupils, how teamwork can be achieved.
