CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Activity 1 

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing a computer monitor and a television for the pupils to identify and differentiate.

Pupil’s Activities – This is a computer and this is a television.

Teacher’s remark – Correct. A computer monitor looks like a television but it is not a television. Discuss the meaning and uses of computer monitor. Summary the meaning and uses on the board.

 

MEANING OF COMPUTER MONITOR

A computer monitor is an output device that displays information in pictorial form.

 

It looks like a television but it is not a television.

 

USES OF MONITOR 

The main uses of computer monitors is to display information or data in image or video.

 

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display a chart showing different types of computer monitor for the pupils to examine and differentiate their physical features.

Pupil’s Activities – Differentiate between different types of computer monitor.

Teacher’s remark – You have done a great job. There are three (3) types of computer system. List and discuss different types of computer system. Write the types on the board.

 

TYPES OF MONITOR

There are three (3) types of monitors. Namely –

1. C – R – T monitor stands for Cathode – Ray Tube

 

2. L – C – D monitor stands for Liquid Crystal Display

 

3. L – E – D monitor stands for Light Emitting Diodes

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Lets the pupils identify and differential between computer monitors and televisions.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and differential between computer monitors and televisions.

3. Leads them to compare and differential between CRT and LCD monitors.

Pupil’s Activities – Compare and differential between CRT and LCD monitors.

4. Asks the pupils to state the main uses of computer monitors.

Pupil’s Activities – State the main uses of computer monitors.

5. Summary the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher write.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
