The pupils can identify some of the components of computer system.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of functional computer system.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF COMPUTER SYSTEM 

Computer is an electronic device that accepts data as input, processes the data and gives out information.

 

PARTS OF COMPUTER SYSTEM

 1. Monitor

A computer monitor is an output device that displays information in pictorial form.

 

2. Keyboard

A keyboard is an input devices used with a computer.

 

3. Mouse

Mouse is input device used for moving cursor around a screen.

 

4. Printer

Printer is an output device that allows a user to print items on paper, such as letters and pictures.

 

5. Computer Case

Computer case is a cabinet that contains most of the components of computer.

 

6. Motherboard

Motherboard is the main circuit board inside a computer that connects the different parts of a computer together.

 

7. CPU

CPU is known as central processing unit.

 

8. Hard Disk

10. Speakers

 

LESSON 2 – COMPONENT OF COMPUTER SYSTEM

There are three major components of a computer system –

1. Hardware

2. Software

3. Users

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Presents random parts of computer system for pupils identification.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Identifying parts of computer.

3. Leads the pupils to describe uses of different parts of computer system.

4. Guides pupils to use keyboard (input), system unit (process) and printer (output) and explain the meaning of computer.
