CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:1-2).

 

THINGS CREATED BY GOD – GENESIS 1:14 – 15

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

 

God is the creation of all things. Everything in heaven and earth, God created them all. God creates the light, atmosphere (sky), dry ground and plants, sun, moon and stars, birds and sea animals, land animals humans.

 

LESSON 2 – STORY OF CREATION – GENESIS 1:14 – 25

God’s creation of the earth is found in Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and consists of the following seven days of creation –

Day 1: Light – Genesis 1:3-5

Day 2: Atmosphere / Firmament – Genesis 1:6-8

Day 3: Dry ground & plants – Genesis 1:11-13

Day 4: Sun, moon & stars – Genesis 1:14-19

Day 5: Birds & sea animals – Genesis 1:20-23

Day 6: Land animals & humans – Genesis 1:24-31

Day 7: The Sabbath of rest – Genesis 2:1-3

 

THINGS CREATED BY MAN 

Engage pupils to state things created by man.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Takes pupils out to see trees, flowers, hills, valleys, birds, etc.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively by observing the environment closely.

3. Asks pupils to tell some creation stories according to their folklores.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in story telling.

4. Narrates the biblical account of creation.

Pupil’s Activities – Read the Bible passages.

5. Discuss how creation demonstrates the love of God to mankind.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the class discussion.

6. Asks pupils to state the things creates by God and man.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
