TOPIC – GOD SAVES US FROM DANGER 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. explain how God delivers those who trust in Him from danger.

2. give examples to illustrate God’s deliverances.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Photographs of a burning house with some people in it without being hurt.

2. Pictures of motorcycle and car accidents.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING 

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION

GOD DELIVERS PEOPLE FROM DANGER 

Danger is a situation in which harm or death is possible. In fire outbreak, drowning in the water, car accidents, etc. harm or death is possible.

If you are free from any form danger, thank God.

Many people have die and perish because of little or no problem.

 

God has save many people from the same danger.

 

EXAMPLES OF GOD’S DELIVERANCE 

1. The crossing of the Red sea. Exodus 14:10 – 22

2. The story of Daniel – Daniel 6

3. The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego – Daniel

 

God can use our parents, police, road safety marshals, fire fighters, the military, etc. to deliver us from danger.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Tells brief story of Daniel in the lion den.

 

3. Ask pupils, who save Daniel.

4. Also, ask why Daniel’s enemies died in the lion den.

5. Uses the Daniel’s story to introduce the lesson.

6. Asks the pupils to narrate the experiences of danger they have had and how God saved them.

Pupil’s Activities – Narrate their experiences.

7. Enumerates instances of deliverance in the Bible.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen and ask questions.

8. Leads class to sing choruses on God’s deliverance from dangers – My Lord delivered Daniel. Who is like unto thee oh Lord.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in singing.

9. Summarizes each of the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
