By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. reading and write numerals up to one million in word form and figures.

2. count up to thousands and millions.

 

RATIONALE

Numbers play an important role in our daily activities. Almost all the things we do involve numbers and calculations. Since we are born, our life resolves in numbers.

For examples, our date of birth, today’s date, house’s number, mobile number, buying and selling are in number, time spent at work or in school are also in number, etc.

 

Knowing how to reading and write numerals as words and figures is very important and professional. The practice of writing amounts in numerals and words in business receipts and bank cheques is to help to avoid confusion with respect to the amount paid.

In this lesson, the pupils will be able to count in thousands and millions, read and write numerals in words and figures.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

At this class, the pupils are accountable for the number books and other materials given by their parents, the feeding money and transport fares, the time spent in school and other place. They can read and write numerals up to one thousand.
