TOPIC – VARIOUS FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN A HOUSE 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. Identify various rooms in a house.
  2. Identify the uses of various rooms in a house.

 

 

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Pictures of various functional rooms in a house.
  2. Pictures of uses of various rooms in a house.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION

A room is a space occupied in a house.

 

VARIOUS FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN A HOUSE 

There are many rooms in a house which serves different purpose.

  1. Sitting room
  2. Bedroom
  3. Dining room
  4. Kitchen
  5. Food store
  6. Bathroom
  7. Toilet

 

USES OF VARIOUS ROOMS IN A HOUSE 

  1. Sitting room – To welcome and entertain guest guests in the house. It is also used for relaxation.
  2. Bedrooms – To rest, sleep, dress up and for keeping some personal belongings.

 

 

 

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Presents pictures or charts of various rooms in a house.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Identify the various rooms in a house with the help of a teacher.
  4. Presents another picture showing various uses of the room.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Give examples using their own homes.
  6. Summarize the lesson on the board.
  7. Copy short notes.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
