PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. Read a simple narrative from a children’s novel.
2. Identify the meaning/concept(s) of truthfulness.
3. State the instance(s) of truthfulness in the story.
4. State some factors that cause people to lie.
5. Describe the consequences of not being truthful.

SIMPLE STORY ON VIRTUE OF TRUTHFULNESS 

MEANING OF TRUTHFULNESS 

Truthfulness is the act of telling or speaking the truth.

ATTRIBUTE OF TRUTHFULNESS 

1. consistent behaviour
2. Steadfastness
3. Straight forward

FACTORS THAT CAUSE  PEOPLE TO TELL LIE 

People tell lie –

1. To avoid being punished.
2. To protect another person from being punished.
3. To avoid embarrassment.
4. To impress people.
5. To keep certain information.

CONSEQUENCES OF BEING UNTRUTHFUL 

1. Destroy of relationships.
2. Lack of trust.

PRESENTATION

• To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Reads the story.
3. Guide pupils to read the story.
4. Pupil’s Activities – Read story after teacher’s model.
5. Explains the relevant points on truthfulness.
6. Pupil’s Activities – Recognize the relevant points on truthfulness.
