LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. solve problems on ratios.

2. express a number as a percentage of another number.

3. solve problems on profit and loss percent.

4. apply the profit and loss percent to business.

5. solve problems on quantitative aptitude on ratio, percentage, profit and loss.

 

RATIONALE

Aratio is a way of comparing any two parts of a whole. Percentages are ratios too, but they’re a very specific type of ratio. Instead of comparing two parts of the whole against each other, percentages compare any one part against the whole.

 

 

Ratios and percentages are some of the most useful math concepts in real life. The concept of ratio and percentage will enable the pupils understand and compare two or more parts with/against another and also appreciate its usefulness in real life.

Profit and loss charts.
