LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives – observe and identify things in and around the classroom, school and home.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can make list of things in the classroom, schools and around.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

 

1. Objects in the classroom, around the school and home.

2. Charts and models.

3. Drawing materials.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart of things within and around the classroom and school.

4. Teacher lets pupils identify some of the things on the chart and state where they can be found.

5. Teacher uses the chart and pupil’s responses to introduce the lesson and asks pupils to make a list of things in the classroom, school and around the pupils.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of lesson.

6. Teacher asks pupils to a list of things along their ways to school and back at home.

Pupil’s Activities – Make a list of things in the classroom, school and around.

7. Teacher guides pupils to state the uses of some of the things in the classroom, school and around the classroom and school.

Pupil’s Activities – Analyze the importance of some of these things. God example – the chair and table, fan, gate, etc.

8. Teacher summarizes the lessons on the board with appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

 

 

LESSON EVALUATION 

Teacher asks pupils to, 

 

1. Make a list of 10 things in the classroom.

2. Identify 10 things in the school.

3. Make a list of 10 things within and around the classroom and the school.
