PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. pronounce each word of the song correctly as they repeat after the teacher.

2. Sing the tonic solfas.

3. Sing the text of the song.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can sing twinkle twinkle little star.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of CD player, Phones for playing songs, etc.

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Twinkle, twinkle, little star

How I wonder what you are

Up above the world so high

Like a diamond in the sky

Be sure that, the pupils pronounce each word of the song correctly.

 

 

LESSON 2 – SINGING TONIC SOLFAS OF TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils into two or more groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher asks the pupils as groups to sing twinkle, twinkle little star. Whole class and group by group.

4. Teacher uses the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson, leads and guides the pupils to sing the song correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction to sing the song correctly.

5. Teacher leads and guides pupils to sing tonic solfas of Singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils sing tonic solfas of Singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

6. Teacher plays children’s songs that lead pupils to sing and get excited.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils as groups sing an excited song.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the lesson summary by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
