Teacher’s Activities – Display ball games kits for tables tennis, football and basketball for the pupils to identify and group them according to each ball game.

Pupil’s response – Identify the kits of tennis, football and basketball.

Teacher’s remark – The identified kits are used in tennis, football or basketball games. Give a great cheer for active participation. Discus the meaning and types of ball games.

Ball games are games that are played with a ball.

INTRODUCTION TO TABLE TENNIS 

Teacher’s Activities – Display table tennis equipments such as table tennis ball, bats and board (if available or you improvise) for the pupils to identify each equipment.

Pupil’s response – This is table tennis ball (commonly known as egg), board and board used for table tennis game.

Teacher’s remark – Correct, table tennis is a ball game. Table tennis is one of the major sports in the world. It is played at all levels of competition. Both young and old people play the game but at world championships, it is a young person’s game. Give a great cheer for act participation. Ask the pupils to describe tennis games. Participate in the description and note the points on the board.

Table tennis is one of the major sports in the world.

It is played at all levels of competition.

Both young and old people play the game but at world championships, it is a young person’s game.

 

EQUIPMENTS USED FOR PLAYING TABLE TENNIS

The following equipments very important in training and playing table tennis games:

1. Table tennis board

2. Bats/Racket

3. Table Tennis balls,

4. Net

5. Score board

6. Sneakers and socks

Pupil’s response – Listen to the teacher’s explanation and watch his/her demonstration and practice.

Teacher’s remark – Give a great cheer for active participation.

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
