CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Get some common plants for display and initiate class discussions which would enable pupils to group the plants based on their features.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the class discussion.

Teacher’s remark – Give a great cheer for active participation and group plants according to their features of plants on the board.

 

GROUP PLANTS ACCORDING TO THEIR COMMON FEATURES 

1. Shape

Group plants according to their shape of the leaves and record with name:

  • Broad leaves –
  • Long leaves –

 

 

  • Narrow leaves –
  • Round leaves –
  • Thick leaves –
  • Thin leaves –

 

2. Size

Group plants according to their size and record with name:

  • Big
  • Medium
  • Small

 

3. Colour of stem, fruits and leaves

Group plants according to the colour of stem, fruits and leaves and record with name:

I. Colour of stem

  • Green
  • Grey
  • Black
  • Ash

 

II. Colour of fruits

  • Red
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Black

 

III. Colour of lowers

  • Red
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Black

 

4. Texture

Group plants according to the colour of texture and record with name:

  • Soft
  • Hard

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEK LESSON ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Initiate class discussions which would enable pupils to group the plants based on their features.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
