By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. list the number of functional rooms in their homes.

2. describe the bathroom and toilet.

3. state the uses and cares of bathroom and toilet.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and describe the bathroom and toilet.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of pictures and charts showing functional Rooms (bathroom and toilet) in the Home.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display a chart showing different parts of a home for pupils to identify and describe the bathroom and toilet.

Pupil’s Responses – This is a bathroom and toilet. Bathroom is where we wash our body. Toilet is where we pass out the body waste.

Teacher’s remark – Home a house or apartment where people lives as a family. It has many rooms. bathroom and toilet are also rooms in the home. Most of the bathroom and toilet are combined rooms in flat or duplex. While in the public rooms, they are separated.

Based on the previous assignment, discuss the uses and cares of bathroom and toilet. Write on the board, the contents of discussion.

 

DESCRIPTION OF BATHROOM AND TOILET 

BATHROOM 

Bathroom is a room where we wash body.

We have master bathroom and general bathroom. Master bedroom is always inside the master bedroom.

 

 

TOILET 

Toilet is a room where we pass out waste product from our body.

There are different types of toilets – private and visitor toilets.

Private toilets are attached to different bedrooms in the home While visitor toilet is attached to the sitting or at the entrance of the sitting.

 

LESSON 2 – USES OF KITCHEN AND STORE AS A FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN THE HOME 

Bathroom is used for washing our body.

 

Store is used for excretion.

 

CARES OF KITCHEN AS A FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN THE HOME 

KITCHEN 

1. Always wash regularly.

2. Remove the bathroom cobwebs.

3. Scrub the floor.

 

STORE

1. Clean the toilet seat regularly.

2. Remove the toilet cobwebs.

3. Scrub the floor.

 

QUICK ASSESSMENT

Ask pupils to –

1. differentiate between the bathroom and the toilet.

2. state the uses and cares of bathroom and the toilet.

Find out the items found in the home and their uses.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays charts or pictures of functional rooms in the home.
