PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the students should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. state necessary precautions in the use, care and storage of drawing instruments and materials.

2. demonstrate safe, clean and correct ways of using and storing drawing instruments and materials.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The students can identify and state the uses of drawing instruments.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of drawing instruments and materials.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

Technical drawing can be defined as a way of representing an object on paper using pencil and other drawing instruments. This drawing communicate how something works or constructed.

 

REVIEW OF LESSON 4

Teacher’s/Student’s Activities – Review the previous lesson – Meaning/Definition of Drawing Instruments and Materials | Basic Techniques of Handling Technical Drawing Instruments and Materials JSS 1 (Basic 7) – Basic Technology

 

LESSON 2 – CARE FOR TECHNICAL DRAWING INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS 

1. The instruments and materials must be used for for the main purpose – that’s drawing purposes.

 

 

2. The instruments and materials must be kept in good condition after used.

3. The instruments and materials must be clean before use.

4. All the sharp instruments must be kept their safety box or containers.

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION WEEK 4 AND WEEK 5 LESSONS

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the students some questions; then, the teacher –

2. Demonstrates correct techniques of handling and caring for drawing instruments and materials.

Student’s Activities – Watch teacher’s demonstration and practice appropriate techniques.

3. Corrects inappropriate practice.

 

 

Student’s Activities – Take correction.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Student’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
