MEANING OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE
Contemporary dance is a form of dance that is a clear departure from the traditional and ballet dance forms but draws inspiration from them.
FEATURES OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE
1. Individual style

3. Does not have fixed movements, etc.
PERFORMING SOME CONTEMPORARY DANCE MOVEMENTS
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the students some questions; then, the teacher –
2. Defines and explains contemporary dance.
Student’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.
3. Plays video of contemporary dance g Nigerian and Western.
Student’s Activities – Watch video of contemporary dance.
4. Leads the class in a discussion of points they have noted.
5. Introduces various contemporary dance movements.
Student’s Activities – Participate in class discussion of what they have noticed.
6. Guides the student(s) to perform some movements to build and encourage individual creativity.
Student’s Activities – Perform some dance movements portraying their understanding of contemporary dance.
7. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Student’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
