PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. Give evidence of Christ’s presence in their lives and homes.

2. State the importance of Christ presence in Christian homes.

3. Show the right attitude necessary for Christ’s visit.

4. Recall the words of Zacchacus when Jesus visited him.

5. Recite Revelation 3 : 20

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. The Bible

2. Picture of Zacchaeus on the tree

3. Picture of of a sick woman

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION 

Reading Bible – Revelation 3 : 20

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

 

EVIDENCE OF CHRIST’S PRESENCE IN THE HOME HE VISITED 

A. The Home of Zacchacus – Luke 19 : 5 – 10

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
