By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
identify and describe the monitor.
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of –

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

IDENTIFICATION OF PARTS OF A COMPUTER
Teacher’s/Pupil’s – Display a functional computer system or chart showing different parts of computer for the pupils to identify and name.
Notes their points on the board.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPUTER MONITOR
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Separates the COMPUTER MONITOR from other parts of computer for the pupils to identify and describe.
Leads them on the basis of description.
What is this?
This is a monitor (expected response – television).
It is like a television.
This is a television (present a functional television or chart of a television)
It shows everything that we type into the computer.
It also shows the games we play on the computer.
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Asks the pupils to identify parts of computer.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify parts of the computer.
3. Asks the pupils which parts of a computer look like a television.
Pupil’s Activities – Mention the name of the parts of computer that looked like computer.
4. Ask them – what can you see on the monitor?
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Draw a computer monitor.
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
Pupils to –
1. Does the television look like the monitor? Yes/No
2. How is the monitor in your school’s computer room different from the television at home?
