LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

This is a C O M P U T E R. 

 

A computer is a machine that counts, calculates and draws.

Computer thinks and calculates faster than you.

 

PARTS OF COMPUTER

This is a monitor

It is like a television but it is not a television.

 

 

This is a television.

 

It shows everything that we type into the computer.

It also shows the games we play on the computer.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or understanding.

2. Displays a functional computer (if available) or chart showing a computer.

3. Lets pupils identify each part of the computer.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify each part of the computer.

4. Displays chart showing a computer monitor and a television.

5. Leads pupils to identify the different between a computer monitor and television.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify the different between a computer monitor and television.

6. Uses the functional computer or charts to introduce and differentiate between a computer monitor and a television.

7. Asks the pupils which parts of a computer look like a television.

Pupil’s Activities – Mention the name of the parts of computer that looked like computer.

8. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Write as instructed.
