PREVIOUS LESSON – 

TOPIC – A Memorable Football Match 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

  1. Describe a memorable event correctly.
  2. Discuss some major role of the event.
  3. Pick out important features in any event with emphasis on time, place, occasion and significance.
  4. Write some relevant piece on the memorable football match of football match of two paragraphs.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Picture charts of existing events.
  2. Model descriptive passages from course books.
  3. Write on the topic as home work.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

  • It is also personal and is therefore, a creative piece of writing.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Guides pupils to talk about their experiences.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Talk about their experiences with regard to the event.
  4. Supervises the pupils work.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Read over the work on the board then copy them down into the composition book.
  6. Correct pupil’s work.
  7. Pupil’s Activities – Write on the topic as work to do.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
