Provides sentences on the topic for the week with some words omitted.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to complete simple sentences correctly using appropriate lexical items (words).

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  4. Course book

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

COMPLETION OF SIMPLE SENTENCES USING DIFFERENT PARTS OF SPEECH (LEXICAL ITEMS) – MYSELF

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Presents sentences with some words omitted.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Listen carefully.
  4. Asks pupils to read the sentences as presented.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Read the teacher’s sentences.
  6. Asks pupils to supply the missing words.
  7. Pupil’s Activities – Supply the missing words.
  8. Supervises the pupil’s work.
  9. Pupil’s Activities – Practice with the teacher’s guidance.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
