2. Recycling

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. state ways of including values into culture and creative arts.

2. demonstrate how to improvise or recycle materials.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

pictures and diagrams showing good values in the Nigerian culture.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

METHODS OR WAYS OF INCULCATING VALUES

IMPROVISATION

Improvisation is also known as alternative materials.

These are the available materials used instead of the original materials that are not available.

 

For example,

1. Colour

Improvisation materials – green leaves, red mud, etc.

 

2. Pencil, biro, etc.

Improvisation materials – charcoal

 

3. Gum

Improvisation materials – starch

 

4. Brush

Improvisation materials – grass or animal skills, etc.

 

Teacher’s Activities – Guides and allows the pupils to demonstrate the improvisation materials stated in the examples. 

 

LESSON TWO – RECYCLING

Recycling is the changing waste or used materials into new objects or materials.

When waste or used materials reused, it is called RECYCLING. 

 

Recycling has many benefits such as:

1. Decoration

2. Beautification

3. Design, etc.

 

Teacher’s Activities – Guides and allows the pupils to demonstrate  how waste or used materials can be reused. 

 

REVISION AND WEEK 3 ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation and demonstrated by the pupils. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson – meaning and importance of value in cultural and creative art. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. State ways of inculcating values.

Pupil’s Activities – Note ways of inculcating values.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
