TOPIC – Making Verbal Reports and Statements
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. Express themselves orally.
2. Demonstrate good speech habits of clear pronunciation.
3. Pronounce with the correct stress and intonation.
4. Arrange ideas on the topic into a logical coherent order.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
MAKING VERBAL REPORTS AND STATEMENTS
Reporting class incidents to a teacher, classmate or friends. (ref – MacMillan Brilliant Primary English Book 6 Page 74 – 75).
Submitting an official report to a committee.
Holding discussions, debates and giving addresses.
Voice of production.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
Aims at giving pupils maximum time to practice speaking merely coming in at odd occasions to correct or suggest.
Pupil’s Activities – Practise speaking with correct pronunciation, stress, intonation and rhythm.
Devise the situation which will make the lesson orderly and interesting, e.g. limit individual speaking to five minutes.
Pupil’s Activities – Do classroom dramatization.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

write a formal letter correctly.
