TOPIC – LANDSCAPE AND NATURAL DRAWING 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. identify landscape drawing.
  2. name some natural objects.
  3. list items found in their environment.
  4. draw still life natural objects and landscapes.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Pencil
  2. Crayon
  3. Marker
  4. Colored pens
  5. Sketch pad
  6. Paper
  7. Cardboard sheets
  8. Drawing boards, etc.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

INTRODUCTIONREVISION

Drawing is a form of visual art. It is the act of making pictures of living and non – living things on drawing papers, cardboards, etc. using appropriate materials.

DRAWING MATERIALS 

  1. Pencil
  2. Ink
  3. Easer
  4. Ruler
  5. Crayon
  6. Paper
  7. Chalk
  8. Marker
  9. Pen
  10. Charcoal, etc.

TYPES OF DRAWING

There are three types of drawing –

  1. Still life drawing
  2. Landscape drawing
  3. Natural drawing

CONTENT OF THE LESSON TWO 

LANDSCAPES ENVIRONMENT ARTS

Landscape drawing is the drawing of our environment. For school compound, garage, stadium, etc.

 

3. NATURAL OBJECTS 

Natural drawing is also known as life drawing. It is the drawing of living things or things that is not made by man.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Identify some landscape and natural objects.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Identify some natural object and landscape drawing.
  4. Discusses items found in the environment.
  5. Asks pupils to draw set objects (natural objects or landscapes).
  6. Pupil’s Activities – Observe different landscape.
  7. Asks people to draw a given objects.
  8. Pupil’s Activities – Draw a landscape scene.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
  • Next Lesson –  Modelling
