LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. find common factors of 2-digit whole numbers

2. find the HCF of 2-digit whole numbers.

3. find common multiples of 2-digit whole numbers

4. find the LCM of 2-digit whole numbers.

 

RATIONALE

LCM stands for Lowest Common Multiple. HCF on the other hand, stands for Highest Common Factor. LCM and HCF are both used to minimize or maximize possible outcomes between two or more things.

The concept of LCM and HCF will enable people to understand and appreciate the importance of LCM and HCF in sharing or allocating two or more things among different groups with any conflict or waste.

 

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of charts of factors and multiples of numbers.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The pupils have the knowledge of multiplication of numbers up to 12 x 12.
