PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. identify the line and stave of both treble and bass staff.
2. draw out the staff showing lines and spaces.
3. draw out the staff showing only lines.
4. identify and draw ledger lines above and below the staff.

Teacher’s remark – A staff is a set of lines and spaces which indicate the pitch of written notes. Additional lines above or below the staff is known as LEDGER LINES.
It is made up of five lines and four spaces.
The lines and spaces have letter names as shown below –

LESSON EVALUATION/ASSIGNMENT
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Displays the chart of treble and bass clef for pupils to draw.
Pupil’s Activities – Draw the lines and spaces of treble and bass clef.
3. Guides them to identify the lines and spaces of treble and bass clef.
Pupil’s Activities – identify the lines and spaces between the lines.
4. Guides the pupils to memorize each lines and spaces of treble and bass clef with the acronyms from the alphabetical letters ABCDEFG.
Pupil’s Activities – Memorize each lines and spaces of treble and bass clef with the acronyms from the alphabetical letters ABCDEFG.
5. Draws and discuss the additional lines to the staff.
Pupil’s Activities – Draw the ledger lines.
CONCLUSION
