PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

• By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to:

1. use intonation stress and pronounce correctly sentences on the national value of honesty;
2. engage in the give and take of dialogue on a passage provide;
3. use normal intonation in questions;
4. recognize the variation of the norm to suggest attitudes; and
5. pronounce the words related to national values in sentences.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

Main Reference – Intonation Practice Using Dialogues and Conversations in Relevant Issues (National Values and Honesty)

Intonation practice using different intonations to suggest different values of National issues such as “honesty”, “good morals” e.g. Trustworthy, obedience, truthful.

Conversation: practice to use the related words in sentences e.g. A good citizen must be trustworthy.

PRESENTATION

• To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Improvises situation that will engage the pupils in conversation using correct intonations, making sentences on National Values;
3. Pupil’s Activities – Engage in conversation using correct intonation, making sentences on National Values.
4. Answer oral questions on National Values;
5. Pupil’s Activities – Answer oral questions on National Values – Describe some attitudes that shows National Values.
6. tells a story with the theme of National Value to the pupils and asks them questions;
7. Pupil’s Activities – Role play – some good behaviours expected of a good citizen.

CONCLUSION

• To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – revision on first term’s work.

LESSON EVALUATION

Pupils to:

1. use correct intonation in conversation on national values; and
2. say some behaviours that enhance National Values.
