TOPIC – MATERIALS FOR CARE OF CLOTHING 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

list different materials needed for care of clothing.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Suitable cupboard

2. Wardrobe – Suitcases

3. Bag

4. Hangers

5. Soap and detergents

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION (CARE AND MAINTENANCE) 

Caring and Maintaining of clothing are very important in reducing waste lifestyle.

These reduce the demand for more resources.

Care and Maintenance of clothing are the ways of keeping clothes clean in a proper manner in order to last longer.

 

 

MATERIALS FOR CARE OF CLOTHING 

There are a lot materials for care of clothing. Among these are as follow:

1. Suitable cupboard

2. Wardrobe – Suitcases

3. Bag

4. Hangers

5. Soap and detergents

6. Water Materials for maintaining of clothing

7. Starch (stiffing agent)

8. Blue

9. Ironing

10. Stain removals

 

LESSON TWO – REVISION AND WEEK 7 LESSON ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or demonstrate by the pupils. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Asks pupils to mention materials needed for care of clothing.

Pupil’s Activities – List some of the materials needed for caring for clothing.

3. Ask the pupils to state the uses of each of the materials stated.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify the uses of each of the materials stated.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Pupils to:

1. list 5 materials for care of clothing.

2. describe the materials mentioned in question.
