PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. say the meaning safety rules.

2. abide with the safety rules.

3. smile and learn.

Fire and electric sockets, etc.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Chart showing some harmful objects such as fire and matches, sharp objects, etc.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Displays chart showing some objects that can harm if they play with it. Asks the children why they should not play with these objects.

Listen to them and give them cheers for their responses. Relate their points as safety rules to follow.

 

MEANING OF SAFETY RULES 

Safety rules are rules that keep us free and safe from danger or harm.

 

 

EXAMPLES OF SAFETY RULES 

1. Do not push one another.

2. Do not fight.

3. Do not play with sharp objects like blade, knife, etc.

4. Do not play with fire.

5. Do not play electric or naked wire.

6. Do not talk or answer strangers.

7. Do not take something from strangers.

8. Do not play on the roads.

9. Obey your parent.

10. Obey your teacher.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Leads the children to say some of the safety rules.

Pupil’s Activities – Say the meaning of safety rules.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
