1. give the meaning of latex crops.

2. give examples of latex crops.

3. state the uses of latex crops.

The pupils can identify products made from latex crops. For example, rubber.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing different different products made from latex crops for the pupils identify.

Pupil’s Activities – This is gloves, swim caps, chewing gum, mattresses, etc.

Teacher’s remark – Correct, all these products are made from latex crops. Say latex crops for about to 3 times for the pupils to repeat after you. Discuss and state the examples of latex crops. Note all the points on the board.

 

MEANING OF LATEX CROPS

Latex crops are crops that produce sap which converted to raw rubbish used for making gloves, swim caps, chewing gum, mattresses, etc.

 

 

EXAMPLES OF LATEX CROPS

1. Rubber

2. Gum arabica

3. Pararubber

4. Indian rubber, etc.

 

LESSON 2 – USES OF LATEX CROPS

1. It is used for making tyre.

2. It is used for making gum.

3. It is used for making chewing gum, gloves, swim caps, chewing, mattresses, etc.

 

ASSIGNMENT

Find out the uses of oil crops.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing products made from latex crops.

3. Explains latex crops with examples.
