PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most the pupils should have attained the following objectives:

1. list any five non locomotor movement;

2. state how to perform each of the non locomotor activities;

3. perform non locomotor movements

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils can stretch, bend, push and pull, etc.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Mats, swings, rope.

 

Watch this video, it will help you to take the lead in performing non locomotive movement.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

ACTIVITY 1 

Teacher’s Activities – Take the pupils to the field, under your supervision, ask the pupils to demonstrate stretching, bending and twisting.

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate stretching, bending and twisting.

Teacher’s remark – Good job you. Today, we are going to demonstrate swinging.

 

ACTIVITY 2 

Teacher’s Activities – Organize the pupils in an orderly formation that will enable them to perform non locomotive movement – swing without disturbing one another. Ask the pupils to follow your lead as you demonstrate different forms of swinging such the arms and legs.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s lead to perform swinging.

Teacher’s Activities – Thumb up for each and everyone of you for active participation. Take the pupils back to the class in orderly manner.

 

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES

Repeat the previous activities to perform pull and push non locomotive movements.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains the basic non locomotive movement skills;

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher.

3. Demonstrates the basic non locomotive movement skills;

 

Pupil’s Activities – Watch the teacher’s demonstration.

4. Observes and supervises the basic non locomotive movement skills;

Pupil’s Activities – Practice the activities..

5. Corrects the pupils practice errors.

Pupil’s Activities – Take correct and perform the activities correctly.

6. Summary the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher write.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
