PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. Read and note instructions and advise on poster on health.

2. Discuss the reason for such poster.

3. Answer questions asked by the teacher.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Wall chart

Posters

Supplementary readers with extract from posters, notices, charts, etc.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

READING CHARTS, POSTERS ON GOOD HEALTH 

Prepare a chart or poster showing –

 

DO NOT SMOKE – AVOID CANCER

 

AVOID HIV/AIDS

 

AIDS IS REAL – BE WARNED , etc.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Shows pupils cut – out notices, charts or posters.

Pupil’s Activities – Read and note the instructions/advice on the posters/charts, etc.

3. Discusses reasons for and effects of reading – awareness of potentialities in actions or articles (DO NOT SMOKE – AVOID CANCER).

4. Asks pupils questions on the advantages or disadvantages of advice on poster charts.

Pupil’s Activities – Ask and answer in a written exercise, idea on set of posters.

5. Correct mistakes made by the pupils.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
