1. identify present perfect with “for”.

3. express correct use of present perfect with “for”.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

FOR and SINCE are frequently used with the past perfect tense.

 

PRESENT PERFECT WITH “FOR”

FOR is used with the simple past. We use for to talk about a period of time. For examples,

 

 

For + a period of past time

  • for ten days
  • for a month
  • for a month
  • for hours
  • for twelve hours
  • for two years

 

EXPRESS CORRECT USE OF PRESENT PERFECT WITH “FOR”

1. I have been sick for two days.

2. Mum has been in the market for two hours.

3. He has lived here for nine years.

4. They have been at home for two week.

 

 

5. We have taught at this school for a week.

6. She have worked here for five years.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains the correct use of present perfect with “for”.

Pupil’s Activities – Correctly use present perfect with “for”, following teacher’s examples.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board with some exercises.
