PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. Make correct statements with will, shall and may in them.

2. Use the tags in asking questions.

CORRECT FORMS OF ‘WILL’, ‘SHALL’ AND ‘MAY’ IN QUESTION TAGS 

The verbs can, will, may, and shall are verbs which ‘help’ other verbs to express a meaning. Modal verbs have no meaning unless they are used with another verb.

 

1. You can understand that, can’t you?

Yes, I can.

 

2. He may call again, mayn’t he?

Yes, he may.

 

3. We shall do the work  shan’t we?

Yes, we shall.

 

4. She will pay the fine, won’t she?

Yes, she will.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Lets pupils use shall, will and may correctly.

3. Pupil’s Activities – Make sentences using will, shall and may. Answer questions from the teacher.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
