  1. list the basic locomotor movements;
  2. explain how to perform each of the movements;
  3. demonstrate movement patterns;
  4.  practice the skills of locomotor movement.

  1. Walking
  2. Running
  3. Skipping
  4. Hopping
  5. Jumping
  6. Leaping
  7. Sliding

WEEK 2

TOPIC – NON – LOCOMOTIVE MOVEMENT 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

  • Pupils should be able to –
  1. list the basic non – locomotor movements;
  2. explain how to perform each of the movements;
  3. demonstrate movement patterns;
  4.  practice the skills of non – locomotor movement.

CONTENT 

  • Stretching
  • Bending
  • Twisting

WEEK 3

TOPIC – NON – LOCOMOTIVE MOVEMENT 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

  • Pupils should be able to –
  1. list the basic non – locomotor movements;
  2. explain how to perform each of the movements;
  3. demonstrate movement patterns;
  4.  practice the skills of non – locomotor movement.

THEME: ATHLETIC (TRACK AND FIELD EVENTS) 

WEEK 4

TOPIC – TRACK EVENTS (MIDDLE DISTANCE RACE) 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

  • Pupils should be able to –
  1. mention the skills involved in middle distance races.
  2. list the skills involved in middle distance races.
  3. perform the take off action.
  4. perform proper arm action, running and finishing.

CONTENT 

  • 800 metre and 1,500 with emphasis on –
  1. Starting
  2. Take off
  3. Running
  4. Arm action
  5. Finishing

WEEK 5

TOPIC – ATHLETIC – MIDDLE DISTANCE RACE

TOPIC – TRACK EVENTS (4 X 100 RELAY RACE)

  3. grip the baton correctly.
  4. perform run – up baton exchange and take – off.

  • 4 x 400 metres with emphasis on –
