THEME: OUR VALUES 

PREVIOUS LESSON – VALUES THAT PROMOTE PEACE – TOLERANCE

TOPIC: VALUES THAT PROMOTE PEACE – COOPERATION 

Cooperation is the process whereby groups of people are working together for common goals (benefits), as opposed to working in competition for selfish benefit.

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor): and be able to describe the attributes of cooperation.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils are required to already have learned in their previous lesson – values that promote peace – tolerance.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

  • The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
  1. Pictures
  2. Newspapers
  3. Posters

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

Cooperation simply means working together for the purpose of achieving common goals.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF COOPERATION 

1. Communal efforts,

2. Shared responsibilities,

3. Taking responsibilities,

4. Helping each other in times of need,

5. Willingness to assist.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Explains cooperation and its attributes;
  3. Tells the pupils to find out if some people in the community portray these attitudes;
  4. Pupil’s Activities – Reports to the class their findings.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
  • Next Lesson – National Unity
