LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Values reflect our sense of right and wrong.
They help us grow and develop.
They help us create the future we want.
The decisions we make every day are a reflection of our values.
MEANING OF CIVIL VALUES
Civil values are the virtues and character traits which help a country to grow and development.
When such values are imbibed by citizens of a country, there will tend to be unity and progress.
EXAMPLES CIVIL VALUES
1. Obedience

4. Loyalty
5. Patriotism
6. Selflessness
NEED FOR CIVIL VALUES IN THE SOCIETY
Civil values help keep society running, make people happy, and ensure secure the future generations.
The need for civil values in the society is –
1. To promote democracy
2. To promote human rights
3. To promote economic development
4. To promote peace and harmony
