LESSON 1 – SONG AND BODY MOVEMENT 

SONG AND GESTURE 

Teacher’s Activities – Sings a song that will the children move part of their body such as clap , wave hand in the air, stand, site, shake, dance, etc.

For example –

1. If your happy and you know it, clap your hands

Clap, clap

 

If your happy and you know it clap your hands

If your happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it

If your happy and you know it, clap your hands

2. If your happy and you know it, stomp your feet

Stomp, stomp

LESSON 2 – WORD AND GESTURE 

Based on lesson 1, pick out a word with gesture from the song in lesson 1 for the children to demonstrate.

 

Note – Gesture means moving part of the body – hands, head, etc. to express an idea or meaning.

 

For example –

Clap your hands

  • Pupils clapping.

 

Stomp your feet

  • Pupils stomping their feet.

 

Turn around

  • Pupils Turning around

 

Say hello

  • Pupils wave their hands while saying hello.

 

Continue with other words with gesture.

  • Yes, No
  • I, Me, Myself
  • You, All
  • Yours
  • High – five
  • Good job
  • Well done
  • Look, etc.

 

Note – The children should be able to demonstrate each word(s) with part of the body. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Sings a song that will the children move part of their body such as clap , wave hand in the air, stand, site, shake, dance, etc.

Pupil’s Activities – Sing and imitate the teacher.

3. Pick a word with gesture.

4. Guides children to demonstrate each word and gesture.

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate with words with gesture.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
