CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Civic Education is a subject that teaches us our duties and responsibilities as members of the communities. Our duties and responsibilities include our beliefs, commitments, capabilities, and actions as members of communities.

Civic education can be important through our home and family.

 

MEANING OF HOME 

Home is a place where people lives as family.

While family is made up father, mother and their children as well as other relatives.

 

IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY AND HOME 

The importance of family and home are as follows:

 

1. To provide shelter.

2. To provide food.

3. To provide protection.

4. To learn the family’s values.

5. To support one another.

6. To care for one another.

7. To ensure growth and development.

8. To function well in their communities.

 

 

LESSON 2 – WAYS THROUGH CIVIC EDUCATION CAN BE IMPORTANT THROUGH HOMES 

The ways civic education can be important through home are as follows:

 

1. To become an active member of the family.

2. To understand their understand and discharge their duties and responsibilities at home.

3. To become responsible children.

4. To be respectful.

5. To support one another at home.

6. To care for one another.

7. To become obedience children at home.

8. To prepare children for their future home.

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

 

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class and available instructional materials.

3. Teacher displays chart showing family in their home.

4. Teacher guides pupils as groups or pairs to identify and analyze the importance of family and home.

5. Teacher listens to the pupils and uses their relevant responses to introduce the lesson.

6. Teacher leads pupils to discuss the meaning of family and home.

7. Teacher asks pupils to state the importance of family and home.

Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand analyze the importance of home and family.

8. Teacher uses the above activities to introduce and discuss ways through which civic education can be important at home.

Pupil’s Activities – Analyze and state the importance of civic education in their home.

9. Teacher summarizes the lessons on the board by using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to the questions and write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
