Types of Drawing
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. identify some objects found in their environment.
2. identify and mention different types of drawing.
Drawing and Colours
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
Picture of the environment, trees, grasses, roads, animals, flowers, pencils, colours.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
Teacher’s Activities – Takes the pupils outside the class to draw things found within or around them.
Pupil’s Activities – Drawing one thing around you.
Pupil’s Expected Drawings – Flower, car, house, tree, etc.
Teacher’s remark – The flower, car, house, tree, etc. are things found in the environment. Writes some of the things drawn by the pupils on the board.
MEANING OF DRAWING
Drawing is a form of visual art. It is the act of making pictures of living and non – living things on drawing papers, cardboards, etc. using appropriate materials.
TYPES OF DRAWING
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Guides to discuss different of drawing with examples and note their points on the broad.
There are different types of drawing –
1. Still life drawing
Still life objects are man – made objects.
Still life drawing is the drawing of non – living things or objects.
For examples – drawing of pot, cup, book, etc. Still life drawing is also include painting to create meaning or a visual effect.
2. Nature drawing
Natural drawing is also known as life drawing. It is the drawing of living things or things that is not made by man.
For examples – trees, birds, goats, cats, fish, etc.
3. Imaginative drawing
Imaginative drawing is called creative drawing.
This is a drawing from memory.
4. Life drawing
Life or human drawing is the drawing of human beings.
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Drawing things found in the environment.
3. Guides pupils to identify different things found in their environment.

4. Leads pupils to identify and discuss different types.

- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
