CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Recreation and leisure are activities often used interchangeably.
These activities are the activities that people choose to do with their free time not used for work, school, or other activities.
MEANING OF RECREATION
Recreation can be defined as the activity that people do for enjoyment during leisure time mostly to refresh their bodies and minds.
Recreation activities are always enjoyable activities that are active and enhanced physical fitness and well being, refresh their bodies and minds.
For examples,
1. Reading
2. Playing games
3. Dancing
4. Meditation
5. Exercise
6. Playing musical instruments
7. Listen to music
8. Going to cinema, etc.
MEANING/DEFINITION OF LEISURE
Leisure can be defined as the activity that people do at any free time mostly to achieve their personal interests or to complete a task.
MEANING/DEFINITION OF DANCE
Dance can be defined as one of the recreation activities that involves the movement of the body.
LESSON 2 – BENEFITS OF RECREATION AND DANCE ACTIVITIES
Recreation activities are always enjoyable activities that enable people to –
1. refresh our body and mind.
2. improve the quality of life.
3. increase personal confidence.
4. increase self-awareness.
5. enhance self-esteem.
6. enhance social interaction.
7. reduce depression and anxiety.
8. improve concentration.
9. promote social and emotional stability.
10. reduce the risk of all forms of diseases.
