INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
Samples of simple farm tools such as cutlass, sickle, axe, hoe, shovel, spade, hand fork, garden trowel, pick axe, basket, head pan, wheel barrow, garden fork, rake and watering can.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Display chart or samples of simple farm tools such as cutlass, sickle, axe, hoe, shovel, spade, hand fork, garden trowel, pick axe, basket, head pan, wheel barrow, garden fork, rake and watering can for the pupils to identify tools used for cutting.
Pupil’s Activities – Cutlass, sickle, axe, hoe, shovel, spade, hand fork, garden trowel, pick axe, basket, hedge shear, head pan, wheel barrow, garden fork, rake and watering can.

MEANING OF SIMPLE FARM CARRYING TOOLS
Teacher’s Activities – Ask the pupils to explain simple farm digging tools.
Pupil’s Activities – Simple farm digging tools are farm tools used for digging the ground.
USES OF FARM DIGGING TOOLS
1. Basket
- Basket is used for carrying crops.
2. Head pan
- Head pan is used for carrying crops and other farms materials or tools.
3. Wheelbarrow
- Wheelbarrow is used for carrying crops and other farms materials or tools.
4. Watering can
- Watering can is used to water the farmland.
Note – Engage the pupils to identify and state the uses of some of the simple farm carrying tools. Show and tell them the used of those tools unable to state their uses. If available, demonstrate the uses of some of carrying tools.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Displays simple farm tools used in the school farm and the locality.
Pupil’s Activities – Observe some simple farm tools and identify carrying tools.
3. Discuss the uses of carrying tools.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the class discussion.
5. Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Describe simple farm carrying tools.
CONCLUSION
