INTRODUCTION

Emails and text messages are modern ways of communicating with people quickly through electronic devices such as phones and computers.

MEANING OF EMAIL

An email (electronic mail) is a message sent from one person to another using the internet.

FEATURES OF AN EMAIL

1. Email address of the sender and receiver

4. Body of the message

5. Closing

6. Sender’s name

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING EMAILS AND TEXT MESSAGES

1. Use clear and simple language.

2. Write clearly and correctly

3. Check spellings before sending.

4. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations

5. Be polite and respectful.

6. Keep text messages short and meaningful.

7. Include the subject in an email.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN EMAIL and TEXT MESSAGES

1. Email sent through the internet while Text message sent through a mobile phone network

2. Email can be long while Text message usually short

3. Email used for formal and informal communication while Text message mostly informal communication
