Farmers may grow crops, such as yams, beans and cassava on their farms, and they may also keep animals, such as cows, sheep, goats and chickens. We use animals for many things. We eat some, use some for work and keep some in the home as pets.

Some animals eat only plants, some eat only other animals while some others eat both plants and other animals.

The concept of domestic animals enable the pupils to identify different kinds of domestic animals based their food and how to keep and care for them.
