LEARNING AREA 

Lesson One – Common Domestic Animals

Lesson Two – Grouping Domestic Animals Based on their Food

Lesson Three – Other Food Eating by Domestic Animals

 

TIME – 40 Minutes each.

 

LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to identify domestic animals, group domestic animals based on food, mention other foods eating by domestic animals.

 

RATIONALE

Farmers may grow crops, such as yams, beans and cassava on their farms, and they may also keep animals, such as cows, sheep, goats and chickens. We use animals for many things. We eat some, use some for work and keep some in the home as pets.

 

 

Some animals eat only plants, some eat only other animals while some others eat both plants and other animals.

The concept of domestic animals enable the pupils to identify different kinds of domestic animals based their food and how to keep and care for them.

 

LEARNING MATERIALS

Charts and pictures of different both domestic and wild animals.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

Learners have learnt the reasons why animals are living things.
