1. Meaning of Accident Victims

2. Reasons for developing Positive Attitude to Accident Victims

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. Explain who an accident victim is.

2. Demonstrate positive attitudes and values towards accident victims.

3. Discuss why we develop positive attitude and values towards accident victims.

4. Identify 4 attitudes to take towards accident victims.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Charts on the reasons we wear clothes.

2. Samples and pictures of different types of clothes.

3. Detergent soap and water.

4. Dirt clothes.

5. Pressing iron.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON ONE – MEANING OF ACCIDENT VICTIMS 

Accident victims are people that get injured or killed as a result of accidents on the roads. Some of the injured have their legs or arms broken. Such victims need immediate attention.

 

 

ATTITUDES TOWARDS ACCIDENT VICTIMS 

Our attitude to accident survivors should be as follows:

1. Friendliness

We should be friendly to them. They need our love.

 

2. Caring

We should take care of them and support them.

 

3. Sharing

We should share whatever we have, which they need, with them.

 

4. Encouraging words

We should take and comfort the victim. This will help them calm down until emergency services arrive.

 

5. Comfort the victim

We should give them comfort. We should give them words of encouragement in order to stabilise and improve their condition.

 

6. Administer aid as necessary.

 

LESSON TWO – WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Assists pupils to find out who an accident victim is;

Pupil’s Activities – Identify those who are accident victims.

3. Discusses who an accident victim is.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the class discussion.

4. Leads the pupils to find out why we should develop positive attitude and values to accident victims;

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and Mention reasons why we should develop positive attitude and values to accident victims;

5. Discusses benefits derived when you develop positive attitude towards accident victims.

Pupil’s Activities – State the benefits of developing positive attitude towards accident victims.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – personal hygiene.
